As one of the strongest and indefatigable female artists in Texas, Kristy Perez opens a new body of work called “A Comfortable Distance” at Gallery 4 in the Bluestar complex. Her work has stunning clarity that resonates long after you leave the gallery. With a Chez Bernar/Artist Foundation Grant under her belt, she has been busy in the studio over the last few months. The varied rooms in All Dogs Go to Heaven may not match, but I left the through the opening with a sense of having visited a special corner of hell, an infernal Habitrail where sinners of different classes conduct illicit activities and rituals
