The five elements are earth, air, fire, water, and space. They originate in Chinese and Japanese cultures in connection with Buddhism. I think the majority of Americans are familiar with the four elements, but the fifth – space generates curosity. Space connotes consciousness. Tonight, I talked with two writers about the difference between the 1970s Earth movement versus today’s Green movement. One of the writers observed that people are more aware today versus almost 4 years ago. She made a valuable point. One of Deconstruction’ and self-help books’ introspection is significant results is awareness. Becoming aware of one’s surroundings and structure, typically it’s hard to stay.
