the ground under my feet, a new exhibition by Karen Sanders opens at Vtrue art space on Friday, April 13, 6-9pm.

Karen is interested in the ways that cultural representations are constructed to define our participation in society. In her studio practice, she examines “spaces” where ideas about race, gender, and religion reside specifically in the areas of photography, video, and the Internet. “More than a century and a half of looking at photographs has mediated how we see ourselves and in large our relationship to others”. She looks towards photography, video, and the Internet to question what it means to be a participant of these constructions.
