Slab Cinema and The Main Plaza Conservancy are teaming up to present CineMundo, a monthly foreign film series at Main Plaza.
Featuring: ¡Viva Pedro! on April 15, 2009 from 7-9pm. The event commemorates the 55th Anniversary of Pedro Infante’s death with a live mariachi performances of favorite Pedro Infante songs followed by a screening of “La Vida No Vale Nada”. In the film, which won Pedro a 1954 Ariel Best Actor Award, Pedro plays Pablo Galvan, a peasant who goes to the city in search of his fortune. Singer/actor Pedro Infante was 36 when he made this film, and was to die tragically two years later. He loved to fly, and was piloting a B-24 Bomber converted to a cargo plane, when it crashed on April 15, 1957. His popularity continues, making new fans to this day.
