Description
This year SAFILM will be awarding 9 jury prizes.
Awards include:
1. Grand Prize
2. Jury Prize for Best Performance
3. Jury Prize for Best Narrative Short
4. Jury Prize for Best Documentary Short
5. Jury Prize for Best Animated Short
6. Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature
7. Audience Award for Best Documentary Feature
8. Jury Prize for Best San Antonio Filmmaker
9. Jury Prize for Best High School Filmmaker
Now in its 15th year, the San Antonio Film Festival — formerly The San Antonio Underground Film Festival — is held annually in June at the Instituto Cultural de Mexico en San Antonio & is looking for 100% DIY narrative, animation, doc, or experimental shorts or features. New this year are the nine categories.
SAFILM is a non-profit 501c3 whose mission is to serve as an accessible and inclusive platform for artist in the category of cinema and provide cinematic culture to a diverse audience. SAFILM showcases film from around the world while nurturing, fostering, and developing filmmakers of all ages. SAFILM is supported by the City of San Antonio’s Office of Cultural Affairs, Instituto Cultural de Mexico, San Antonio Film Commission, G2E Services, Southwest Airlines, and the San Antonio Express-News.
