Show Title: Aether Drift
Aether Drift is series of new paintings interested in the architecture of structures, groups, flocks as they drift through an impossible and undefined space under the aegis of an unknown power. Aerodynamically challenged constructs collide and cavort, grouping together to form flocks that in turn form larger structures seemingly caught up in an implied eschatological narrative.

Title of Show: BOLD IMPRESSIONS handmade paper linocut woodcut books
I began gathering material for this group of work in the Winter months of 2008. As my neighborhood cleaned its yards of brush and overgrowth and decorated the curbside with yard debris, I collected large palm leaves. I have always loved the majestic palm tree and this was an opportunity to work with these dried wonders! I began by pressing the dried leaves into freshly made sheets of pulp paper and drying the sheet. I also added pulp painting to some sheets for color and contrast. While working on these papers I also experimented with rust patterns on some dried handmade paper. The color of the rust and the patterns I got led me to explore linocut images that would be compatible. I believe my interest in color and design, pattern and texture continues to drive my artwork.
