On Thursday, May 31, at 6:30 pm Lyle Williams, curator of the McNay’s Prints and Drawings collection, will give a talk on the current exhibition of woodcuts:

Drawn from the McNay’s superb print collection, In Relief: Woodcuts from Gauguin to Judd is a survey of 40 modern and contemporary works highlighting the oldest printmaking medium.

Featuring works by artists ranging from Paul Gauguin to Richard Diebenkorn, this exhibition presents an array of woodcut techniques used over the past 150 years and how elements of the medium have remained constant. Woodcutting tools and woodblocks will be on display as well.
