“STREET BEAT
November 20th – January 1st 2009
Hausmann Millworks

Concept: A loose interpretation of the phrase “Street Beat” pertaining to street music, street vender food, street culture or anything involving community and thoroughfares.

Many people meet creativity in the street. From hand painted signs commissioned on the sides of buildings, to illegal and legal graffiti murals placed on the side of structures. Individuals are always involved in some sort of communication with the street and the aesthetics that follow.

Many cultural commodities can be seen from the street; window shopping, store fronts, house fronts. This exhibition is to encourage visibility and bring attention to the street cultures and commodities of the world.

Music at event include: DJ Ernest Gonzales, John Mata, Mickey House and Erik Anthoney
