Description
Join us on Thursday, January 21, for the opening reception of the lastest public art completed through the Artpace’s Semester Program. Eighth grade Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) students and their instructor, Esperanza Garaza, worked with artist Ricky Amendariz to create Project Calle Rojo, a performance based artwork that utilizes a temescalli, or sweat lodge, to explore native cultures, rites of passge, and self-expression.
This educational partnership between Artpace, Ricky Armendariz, and Washington Irving Academt is supported by an anonymous donor and the Kronkosky Charitable Foundation. Special thanks to the Parman Party.
