Okwui Enwezor, a pioneer in the field of art history and criticism, focuses primarily on contemporary African art. A native of Kalaba, Nigeria, Enwezor is currently the Dean of Academic Affairs and Senior Vice-President of San Francisco Art Institute, CA; Adjunct Curator at the International Center of Photography, New York, NY; and Artistic Director of the Second Bienal Internacional de Arte Contemporaneo de Sevilla, Spain. His lecture at Artpace will focus on themes of his critically-acclaimed curatorial endeavors.
