Humbling Moments

Andrew Sullivan humbles bloggers everywhere by announcing that after deciding to go “balls to the wall” during the primary season, he posted over 1,600 items in one month. His Daily Dish has been a big inspiration to me by providing a steady stream of interesting political, social, and cultural commentary that defies the standard ideological structures. Congratulations to him on completing his first year under the Atlantic masthead.
Fuck Andrew Sullivan. Being a hypocritical Republican gay guy must be some sort of art, but please spare Emvergeoning.
Yeah, I especially love how he brings everyone’s thinly veiled hateful dogmas to the surface.
Emvergeoning is here to document & discuss art, not clean up the city.
Perhaps I should clarify here. This post wasn’t about politics. It was about acknowledging that Andrew Sullivan has been an important player in showing what can be done with a blog. I think political bloggers as a whole are way ahead of arts bloggers in contributing effectively to a broader conversation, and Sullivan exemplifies that. He has helped me come to a much better understanding of the political discourse in this country, even as I disagree with many of his judgments. And I’d like to help others engage more fully in the arts discourse, even as I recognize that my own participation in it is uneven, and my own vision filled with blind spots.
I enjoy being around ; and I enjoy being in non-political contexts and activities.

i hate tacos.
i hate tacos.
you sir, are a LIAR and a FRAUD.
i have EVIDENCE,
more damning of which can be PRODUCED…
if it be NECESSARY.
Thinly-veiled, hateful dogs lurk just behind the cardboard shanties of the homeless-sexual agenda. And, if you’re not careful, they’ll eat your tacos (and the lady who made them) just to watch you cry.
i bring the point to the joint that will change the chop but we can bring it back to the beatboxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
The easiest way to convince my kids that they don’t really need something is to get it for them
